The Chocolate Tree

Unlike money, chocolate DOES grow on trees.  For just £5, which equates to roughly four shop-brought Easter eggs*, you can plant a Chocolate Tree in Ecuador.

But how does it work?  It’s simple really.

The school in the community donates a bit of land (without cutting down any jungle!!) where we can plant cocoa trees.  For every Chocolate Tree bought in the UK, one will be planted in this piece of land.  The crop is harvested and sold, with all profits being invested into the micro-finance community bank which gives small loans to locals to start small projects. This is a sustainable way to help the area move forward, providing better resources for their children and the school. You are also planting a tree so helping the jungle!

Through buying a Chocolate Tree, you are helping a community build a sustainable future.  If you would like to buy a Chocolate tree, please donate via PayPal on the link found through this website.

Don’t forget to e-mail email your name and address to selvakids@hotmail.co.uk so we can send your exclusive Chocolate Tree certificate!

*Results based on a quick flick through some supermarket websites. Obviously these are the budget Easter Eggs so for those with a taste for the classier egg, you could be making a saving!
